iTunesday: Moirée Music Please.

Aside from the Queen Bee herself last week, I must say, this is my best iTunesday giveaway yet. And I'm not even giving it away, the artist is! Today's post comes as merely a pass-along from my pal DJ Jonny Moirée (the music-pumping alter ego of my dear friend Mr. Bo.gs). As you'll shortly see (hear), there's a reason he gets 1000s of downloads a month, the torrent networks are swarming with his mixes, and some crazy overseas places have even burned his mixes and are selling them online.
It's a shame it's taken me this long to discover his little hobby. I gave him the obligatory "oh-sure-you-make-mix-tapes"-eyeroll when he first discussed it. And then one day I actually clicked and checked it out for myself.
Two Words: Gold. Mine.
Not a fan of good (not trancey) house? Well, then perhaps you should check out some other favorites of mine, like Undercovers, Vol. 3 (posted yesterday) which features some tempo-shifted covers (by Dame Shirley Bassey, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash...) of played-out musical favorites like Justin Timberlake, Radiohead, Billy Idol, The Pixies and Pink. Scrumptious. (And check out at least the first song on Undercovers, Vol. 2 -- sorry Kanye, but this version makes Stronger sound infinitely cooler and less Daft-dependent.)
Need some chill (read: sex) music? Try DJ Jonny Moirée's Erotic Mode, an exploration of The Best of Depeche.
Wanna brush up on a well-curated collection of indie jives sure to make you stand taller amongst the furriest of Williamsburg hipster crowds? Try Nonstop Indie Dance Party, Vol. 8.
Need some new treadmill or rollerblading tunes now that spring has sprung? Load Party Trick, Vol. 5 onto the iPod Shuffle.
And on... and on. (Amazing.)
There's probably a solid 4 days of music available on Jonny's mix-o-matic. He even generously included an inline flash player thingamajig, so you can give them a listen before you commit to the 100something mb download (it's worth it; right-click), or if you just wanna play it whilst you're at work. Give each set a spin through the tracklisting (or do what I did and copy the full tracklisting piecemeal into the "Lyrics" section of the ID3 tags). He's even included links to subscribe via iTunes podcast (although I can't get them to work for some reason, just add the page RSS to your RSS reader.)
